Practical Information
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us on our shared email address: [email protected].
Transportation
Arlanda express, airport buses (Flygbussarna) or taxis/bolts/etc. are the most convenient ways to get to the city from the airport. Public transport is provided by SL, and a ticket (which you can buy from the website or the app) is valid on all modes of transport. You can also tap a bank card on the ticket readers to pay for a single trip. Bus line 323 from Brommaplan stops at Lovö kyrka but does not go very often. Bus lines 177 and 176 (which also drive through Brommaplan) stop at Kanton, from which the church is a 20-minute walk (1.6 km). Lovö magasin is about the same distance from the church.
Accommodation
First Hotel Brommaplan is a hotel with great reviews and was recommended to
us by the person responsible for our reception venue. We have an agreement
with this hotel that gives you a 15% discount on any bookings within the
date range 28 June to 6 July 2026. The room must be booked from their
home page. Make sure you enter the discount code on the first page of the booking,
since it is not possible to add it later (click to enlarge image):
Use the code from the screenshot – we didn’t want to write it out in text here
because the internet can be a weird place 😅. You will have to enter credit
card details to guarantee the booking, but payment will only happen on site when
you check in. The booking can be cancelled at any point (at no charge) until
14:00 on the arrival day. Cancellations made after that will incur the cost of
the first night of the booking. A dog room, baby bed or extra bed are available
for a fee by request – please include this in the comment section of your booking.
First Hotel Brommaplan is located in a rather central area with a lot of shops.
Other options for accommodation include Mornington Hotel Bromma, Mornington Longstay,
and Forenom Aparthotel Stockholm Bromma, which are situated closer to where Anders
lives. The last two consist of studio apartments rather than regular hotel rooms.
All four are on a direct bus line (177 or 176) to Kanton, from which you can
walk to Lovö kyrka. Airbnbs in the area
are also an option; alternatively, you could look for more bucolic accommodation
on one of the islands on Lake Mälaren. Feel free to reach out to us for more
advice or to discuss your options – we are very happy to help :)
Dress code
Summery semi-formal: we envision suits of any colour with ties/bowties and optional vests, cocktail dresses in summery colours/patterns, or dressy separates. Non-Western festive attire is also very welcome. Note that parts of the reception will be outdoors. See this Pinterest board for inspiration =) Note! If you view the board in the mobile Pinterest app, you may be taken first to a tab called "More ideas", which does not represent our saved ideas. Make sure to click on "All saves" to see what we actually pinned.
What is a ceilidh?
A ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) is a social dance evening from the British Isles. We have hired Järna Ceilidh Band to play fitting folk music, and a caller will introduce the steps before each dance, so no experience at all is required to join in the fun! We hope you take this opportunity to try out a fun dance style. Michelle decided that we needed to have a ceilidh at our wedding after having an absolute blast at two Scottish ceilidhs in Edinburgh in early 2025. We know from experience that one gets quite warm and sweaty when dancing at a ceilidh, so keep that in mind when picking your outfit :D
Gifts
Gifts are completely optional. We understand that the trip has been especially costly for our international guests. The most important thing is that you are here to celebrate with us :) If you would like to give something, a voluntary monetary contribution to our honeymoon or a personalised present would be appreciated. Monetary gifts can be given via Swish or a bank transfer to the father of the groom (bank details will come closer to the event).
